Trees in the Mist Photo

Photographer’s Note

We drove from South Africa through to Swaziland with this thick mist to accompany us all the way. The mist was not great for seeing the mountain scenery but it created quite a nice atmosphere with these eucalyptus tree plantations which dot the hillsides.

It seems to be a difficult atmosphere toconvey, but i think you managed it nicely! These tall, thin, leaveless trees in the mist have a strong graphism and visual impact... The B&W works well to increase the mysterious mood!

The graphism provided by the thin tree trunks of the eucalyptus is attractive and they made an interesting contrast with the foggy atmosphere.

Hello Wanda! What a special photo, eucalyptus trees with fog :))) I never thought of that as I always associate these trees with a very hot day in Australia. This is really beautiful and you somehow think this belongs to a movie rather than being here on earth. What a great mood, no reason to see mountains, this is plenty but I understand that you might have liked some hills instead but see what came out, we love it. It is so simple object but so strong atmosphere.
The two bigger trees were arranged on both side of the photo and the center top is near empty,perfect.

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon Wanda, and comment on this photo just as everyone else has done, but it just leapt off the screen at me.
I think this is really excellent - you created real mood here. I like the darkness and mystery of it.
There's no real focal point but it doesn't need one - a superbly atmospheric capture.

Misty and kind of mystic... You produced a wonderful atmosphere with the minimalist, rhythmic pattern of the apparently leafless trees immersed in the thick grey fog. It's intriguing how it reminds Northern Winter despite being Summer down there.

this is fantastic! I really love it! The simplicity of it is mind boggling. The longer I do photography the more I get attracted to shots that do not have a lot in their composition and netherless have a huge impact.
