German cemetery in Aného.
Since 1880 Togo was a colonial territory of the Germany. 1897 moved the German colonial administration from Aného to Lomé, which developed thereafter to a busines and traffic center of Togo. Therefore you could see here some buildings from the German colonial age, like the governor palace and a gothic cathedral in the old part of town. After the First World War Togo was taken over by the "Völkerbund". The larger part was assigned to France and a smaller part to Great Britain. While the British part of Togo belongs today to Ghana, the independent Togolese Republic (independence 1960) corresponds to the French mandated territory.

Hallo Achim,
interessantes Bild von diesem deutschen Friedhof in Afrika und ein informativer Kommentar dazu. Ich mag das schwache Abendlicht in deinem Bild, aber dachte eine kleine Korrektur von Helligkeit und Schärfe könnte vielleicht nicht schaden und habe eine alternative Version in den Workshop gestellt.
