Photographer’s Note
I think it was about time that I posted a new photo on this fabulous website.
Here is the photo that I took from the base of Shingo La at an altitude of approx 4800 meters on a very cold summer night with the temperatures dipping to -10C.
UPDATE: Its my birthday this weekend (Feb 5). So I will not be checking my mail/TE until Monday. But feel free to leave birthday wishes for me ;-) ... I like to feel being loved ;). BTW, I am turning 31 and feeling very happy about it. Just wanted to share this news with all of you instead of retreating into my cocoon, like I usually tend to do on my b'days :D. I always used to say, whats the big deal about d'days neways ... but this year I think there is some deal about them. It is the day that we deserve to feel special.
oooh!! almost forgot, another news: I finally bought the domain name www.journeytohimalayas.com. I will be building this website in the coming months, but some of my contact numbers/IDs are still there.

Yes!!!! Finally a new post from. And what a strange image! I remember to see this one in your blog and thought that this is the vision of someone on drugs (remembering your last post...lol). In such a high altitude this visions can happen, due to the lack of oxigen. I would say that this also a good image coming from an Aquarium ;-) They have an attraction for astronomy.
Now seriously. How did you get this effect? The result is quite abstract and I find it interesting, but is that hypnotic sky natural? Either way, I like it. I would say that the only minor detail, is the flare at right bottom corner.
I thought that you were going for 30!! I allways stay in my cocoon as well...but the important thing is to have fun and be happy, in a cocoon or with lots of friends :)))))))
Have a great weekend, Sarju!
Cheers,
Ricardo
p.s.- good work on your new website ;-)

Hi Sarju
I am even late for your birthday, how typical of me.I always remember the day after that it was someones b-day.
This year, I suceeded in celebrating my own b-Day 6 hours in advance,as I was in France on that day,got my present faster this wway.
I remember once.telling you that you were an experimenter, always trying something,to see the effect and going forward in photography. Here you go at it again with this classical presentation of a starry sky.
What was your ISO here,as I am surprised to see noise.100 will have been a good choice for this very long exposure.
I still have to try this some time.
Happy birthday Sarju.

Happy Belated Birthday, Sarju.
I like this creative shot. I assume you used a long exposure but I'm curious how you got the circular effect.
Good work.
