Photographer’s Note
I never really saw any ruins, but it's a nice place to relax as no doubt many others feel as well.

I like the sub-composition of the fallen shoe beneath the man's feet. Also, for anyone who's been to Japan, this image is striking in it's documentation of rare public intimacy (although maybe this is more common among young folk now). Overall, though, I don't find this image particularly engaging. Lighting is flat, and the haze in the distance--with no real subject to look off at--makes the image seem incomplete. Also, the man's pose is more collapsed than embracing, which limits the appeal of the image as a portrait of a couple in love.

I have looked many times to this picture... It's an appealling, attractive image. It was always too difficult to express which feelings it gave to me. Of course it's technically perfect to me, framing fits very well the image and the contrast of B&W is just right! But there is also a kind of symbolic which I can guess but I can't find the words.
Now this was my 2000th comment Adam! ;o)
Sometimes I read again the "old ones" and I think I have improved a little, enriched my "photographic" vocabular, and met wonderful persons on TE. I'm very thankful that you created this site, this wonderful open window, where I really can relax & enjoy the view on the World...
Eh!... That's what they are doing! Looking & enjoying the View on the World...

This is a classic b/w shot, Adam. I like your tonal range here, and the positions of the subjects are very engaging. A story can be seen here, and the b/w makes it even more evident.

Hi Adam,
I like your composition except for one thing, this piece of the fence which is sticked to the woman. You should have had tried to hide it behind her. Funny the guy with only one shoe...
