Photographer’s Note
The sign reads:
Home of Fruit and Culture
Awano District
Awano is one of eight districts that make up the town of Yanagawa. Originally, these districts were themselves towns.

Really nice. I like the warmth the old guy laughing brings, and the face of the girl in the foreground, looking in wonder at this "foreigner" pointing a camera at her. The B&W helps to age this photo, to the extent that I wouldn't be too surprised if you were to say it was taken 30 years ago. Although the concrete telegraph poles, and the nicely laid road would not have been there then. And of course, I know that you weren't there forty years ago. ;-)
Finally the composition, with the hand-held sign making up the top third, the two guys taking up the left, and the girl, with line of women trailing off into the distance to the right is very effective.
Great human interest shot.

Nice shot. I think crouching a bit more would have allowed you to block the power lines with the placard. The people are very interesting, it's the lack of clarity that drives this down from a big to a little smile.

I totally agree with others...
You perfectly gave a feeling of non-time. The facial expression of the first three characters, the infinite line of people line behind them and the aspect, the texture of your picture are really nice.
