Photographer’s Note
I had previously posted a close- up photo of the Kyrgyz national sport of bezrushki, where the object is to grab the carcass of a headless goat and drop it in a circle while everyone else tries to take it away from you. On horseback.
This is another scene from that same afternoon, this time a wider view showing everyone in full chase (the boy in the light blue is the one with the goat). I also like this shot because it shows the general scene, with the poplars that one sees everywhere all over Central Asia, and the Tian Shan mountains in the distance.

Hi Daniel,
Great action shot!! The picture conveys a real feel of excitement with great focus and sharpness. I need to remember to speed up my shutter time when looking at an action scene.
I was fascinated that your last three posts are from the -stan countries and it's such a current shot. Sounds like that Peace Corps trip may have absolutely liberated you; or perhaps you and your wife were always travellers.

Hi Dan,
Very lively action shot with a very clear focus.
Love the clouds of dust and rich autumn background to this fine action shot.

This is a wonderful travelogue you are putting together; probably more in the TE spirit than anything else on here at the moment. I can't keep up though, as it usually takes me 2 to 3 days to return critiques. I've just perused all your latest work and am learning a lot. I picked this one because of the wider view of the countryside and the wonderful action you caught along with the unusual activity. Excellent work

PS The market shot of the peppers - did you think of making it abstract by cropping to just have the peppers? The pattern is fabulous.

Bonjour Daniel,
un pays bien mystérieux et pas souvent montré sur TE, une photo très dynamique et de qualité, sur ce sport un peu glauque et nécrophile, mais les traditions sont fortes.
Regards.
Daniel.

hello daniel
love the dynamics of the scene. i'm not so sure about the inclusion of the sky. stry scrolling the picture up in your browser to the point that the sky (and the mountains) disappear. to my eyes: the frame becomes much more enjoyable and more focused on the action.
warm regards,
kristaps
