Photographer’s Note

English version:

Vang Vieng has considerably changed, since the last time I visited, 8 years ago! But there is something that remains the same, on the other side of the Nam Song: the kids are always eager to jump from the little bridge, on the way to the Phoukham cave and pool...

I remembered this place as being the kingdom of the butterflies. In a way, this is still the case...

Vang Vieng a considéralement changé depuis ma dernière visite, il y a 8 ans. Mais il y a quelque chose qui demeure toujours, de l'autre côté de la Nam Song: l'enthousiasme des enfants à sauter depuis le petit pont, sur le chemin qui mène à la grotte et au plan d'eau de Phoukham.

Je me souvenais de cet endroit comme étant le royaume des papillons. Dans un sens, c'est toujours le cas...

Ses ailes se développer.Ce papillon est très bien figé et bon choix d'exposition.le contraste ici est un véritable piège.

Excellent DOF/exposure and timing to catch the flying/jumping kid, with a nice blurry green background of vegetation behind, giving the tropical touch...

le mouvement est tres joliement fiché...le papillon va deplier ses ailes.
tu as shoote au bon moment, c'est tres impressionnant , on a l'impression que c'est tres haut...

Super mignon ce papillon!
Avec ses petits pieds plein de terre, ses petits bracelets et ses cheveux qui s'envolent, on sent effectivement cet enthousiasme dont tu parles.
J'aurais bien voulu voir l'endroit en WS, car on se demande pourquoi ils sautent comme ça, ils atterrissent sur un chemin ou dans l'eau?

belle photo pleine d'entrain
mais elle saute sur un trampoline ou dans l'eau (désolée mais ça me chagrine de ne pas voir l'aire de réception j'ai trop peur qu'ele se fasse mal en tombant!)

je la voyais plutot, avec ses 2 minuscules omoplates saillantes comme 2 petites ailes en cours de formation, comme un ange prennant son envol. Mais je suis un mauvais entomologiste, pas fort en papillons

Great action shot, the dof was chosen very well, catching a motion shot and freezing it.. perfect!! The kid must of had good fun, very well recorded capture.

Oui, like little butterfly so light, so pure and innocent and pretty. I love the essence of free spirit, the pure joy of jumping in the air and landing in refreshing water, especially at this time of year when it is so hot. and most of this jumping are boys, and it a delight to see the girl. thanks, it is a joy to look at, it makes me smile.

Nice capture of flying kid like a butterfly, the framing that put the space ahead of the kid is also nice. It seems you might have a opportunity for selecting a panning shot to increase an impact.

This spontaneous kid photo can be from anywhere! The timing is the key here & done very well, catching her 'as she jumped' with good use of shallow DOF. Very nice...well done!

Hello Marine,

This is an extraordinary shot. Photos taken from behind the subjects attract me a lot because of the mystery they contain. This shot, what oozes out of it the anticipation of hitting the water, or landing on the trampoline. Superb work.

Salut Marine,

Tout la joie de l'enfance ce traduit dans cette photo! Un moment magnifiquement saisi. J'aime beucoup les cheveux en lair. Le focus est parfait aussi comme le bouque au fond. Le fait qu'on ne voit pas sont visage passe le message qui cet enfant purais etre tous les enfants au monde...
