Photographer’s Note
In the night market, the kinds of commodities are rather limited. Paper umbrella was very popular several years ago, but recently it seems not to be so popular. But the image and atmosphere are very good.

Hi Takero,
This is really a different kind of picture! Very good colours! An interesting scenery.
Kind regards

Hi Takero,
Lovelly suject. The shape and colours of those umbrellas are great. Nice framing and compo, just think that once you intended to show some of the seller you should had included a little more space on the left to get more of the lady.

Flavia

Hello Takero,
Yes, the market is another drawing card in LP and the coloured patterns make a good photgraphical element. Light conditions - this is an evening market - make the market a real challenge for us, photographers.
What got me thinking here is the woman on the right: on the one hand I like the human presence, on the other hand she deserves a more considered place in the composition (now she is partly cropped off). Either in or out would be better, now she's halfway in between. Do you know what I mean?
I'll have to go and look at my night market shots, I haven't uploaded any yet, and there's probably a good reason for that:-)
All the best.
Benny

For a change Takera, this one has no people and yet it has all the intensity and the colours of life so brilliantly packed in and so well composed. Lovely work

Hello Takero
The subject is really attractive and I understand you stopped on these colorful paper ombrellas.
The conditions should have been very difficult in the night market and the bulb is a real trap.
This spot is blinding and I think this shot would have been more interesting with another framing. A close-up on the ombrellas would have brought the strong graphism out. Just my opinion.
I propose my version in a WS to illustrate what I mean.

Hi Takero
I think the same than Karine (KLB), and I like very much her WS which, I think, enhances the colors as well as the graphism of the shot. I was not long ago in LuangPrabang and I realise I have not any shot from the market! Good idea!

Dear Takero-san
Of course I know this scene very well! Here from this POV the paper umbrellas look like colourful butterflies. I agree with Benny here...maybe cropping off the lady might be better here. Any idea why the paper umbrellas are no more popular? They would be great tourist souvenirs for sure!
Best regards
Angshuman
PS : I would be grateful if you do point out areas of improvements in your critiques to my pictures. I have high regard for your photographic abilities and surely you can provide me tips to improve!

Hello Takero,
A wonderful composition of colours and forms. Good to include the background of the shop and the illumination sources.
Regards,
Paul
