Luang Prabang...

The Mount Phousi is a hill, in the center of the ancient royal city. At the top of it, there is a temple, that overhangs the both rivers that meet here: Mekong river and Nam Khan. The view on the surroundings is worth the visit. And the walk itself is a pleasure at every step, between the frangipani trees in flowers of heady fragrance and the big black butterflies.
At the sunset, the light makes the colors shine and the Phousi shows itself in all its glory.

Le Mont Phousi est une colline, au centre de l'ancienne capitale royale. Au sommet, il y a un temple, qui surplombe les deux fleuves qui se rencontrent ici : le Mekong et la Nam Khan. Rien que vue sur les alentours vaut une visite. Et la promenade en elle-même est un plaisir à chaque pas, entre les frangipaniers en fleurs au parfum capiteux et les grands papillons noirs.

Au coucher du soleil, la lumière fait briller les couleurs et le Phousi se montre dans toute sa gloire.

great shot, amazing colors especially in the sky,
the contrast is pretty good with the yellow temple and I like the lighting and shadow on part of the wall, superb POV and an excellent composition...

A nice classic approach to this monument, I now remember the place thanks to your note. You took full advantage of that pretty blue busy sky that enhances the gold colors.

another great shot, Marine, I like a lot the gold of the temple against the blue sky and clouds, the result feels uplifting, as if the temple was surfing up into the sky. the way you have composed the photo, the upward looking point of view, the delicate shadows in the foeground, the sense of weightlessness from the dangling triangles - all that adds to that feeling of upward motion. great shot, I like it a lot.

Salut Marine,
quand je pense que j'ai eu la flemme de monter jusque là-haut....bon la lumière était loin d'être aussi bonne ceci dit. Le doré ressort vraiment bien sur ce ciel très bleu. Juste une petit remarque : je pense que tu aurais pu fermer davantage le diaph vu l'éclairage fort...on gagne toujours un peu en piqué...Bien joué ceci dit.

Not exactly a picture I associate with you, but a pretty postcard for sure. A good classical approach with the contrast between the gold & the blue sky specially alluring. Another think I like is the play of shadows across the white pedestal..Good views of the town you get from up there! Good work!

Le contraste de l'or du toit sur ce ciel qu'il semble vouloir toucher est magnifique.
Belle et étrange architecture que tu nous présentes.
On a fait une petite virée "asiatique" avec Phil hier dans le quartier chinois de Paris, c'était moins beau mais très sympa!

I don't remember the stupa up here on Mt phousi is this beautiful. Pehaps it was in the afternoon when I was up here and the light is behind it. I didn't get a clear view, but I do love the stairs on the way up under the canopy of Plumeria flower tree. which is the national flower of Laos. You got beautiful blue sky and the golden stup Are nice combination of colors that complement each other. The saturation of the color maybe a bit strong but it work well here and really showcase the stupa well. my complements. Have a good morning.
