Photographer’s Note

This is view from Fort Hill on Union Island, near to Tobago Cays. You see the airport on Union Island, next is mooring bay and next is private Palm Island famous for just married couple apartments - very expensive - 3 500 US Dollars / one night. In the back You see Petit St. Vincent.

Elzbieta ... ! You found the ideal POV with the ideal light conditions and on top of that the ideal cloud formation. I never saw such a lovely airport before. I wish I could land there right now, but instead I have to get ready to go to work :-(

Very good wide angle shot where the cloud formation seems to provide an umbrella arching over the scene. I like the dappled light and all the tiny details.

Serwus Elzbieta,
The POV you selected gives a stunning overview of this beautiful area; but then you followed it up with perfect framing, focus and light management. I've seen a few of these broad vista shots, even tried a few myself; but none I've seen have suceeded as well as this one.

The perfect detail of the foreground foliage gives a real feeling of being there; I can almost feel the soft tropical breeze. The airstrip provides a patchwork of colors in the middle ground. The sea stars here with painting a canvas of greens and blues with white accents, while the reef, islands and anchored boats provide idyllic deatail. Anyone would have been nice, the three put this photo WAY over the top. The stunning explosion of clouds would ordinarily be the star of any photo but here they are trumped by your wonderous sea. To my favs,

Hi, Elzbieta. All this looks very green. The foreground shows luxuriant vegetation which, I think, would go down to the sea if there hadn't been the airport. The water in the mooring bay has a very special colour which is enhanced by the boats creating some contrast on it. The sky looks rather special. It's as if it was striped. A very pleasant landscape.

Such a high POV offers us a grand sight with a lot of depth and brightness.
Such an opened angle works very well, and the photo contains many interesting elements visually, like the track of the airport, the wonderful beaches of turquoise water, the vegetation in foreground and the islands and an impressive sky in background, closing this excellent panoramic one.
Great work with the scanned one also, there is a high quality of image and beautiful colors here.

Well composed with a good proportion of sky to land here. I like the clarity of detail from this bird's eye view on the hill. The lighting is very fine and the depth is such that one can discern objects in the far distance, including the little atoll. Well captured.

This one you did really well Elzbieta (of course also with a little help from the nature itself).
Your pov is very good to present the grand nature of the place and the green variations is just superb for the setting in the slightly underexposed compo. The total comes out just great with the perfect clouded sky over it all..

Hello Elzbieta -

This is a very nice and clear image. The WA view has given the clouds an elongated look that enhances and gives the image a greater expanse. The exposure looks to be spot on with and appropriate DOF. The image is sharp as there is a lot of detail throughout. I do like the mixed lighting throughout the image and you have managed to control it very well. Well done!

Superb POV and memories stirring photo to me, as i know the owner of Palm Island, as I stayed a week there in 1978 (invited ;D) and i did some regattas on PSV island (petit st vincent... Great colors and good sharpness... a nice ,wide view.

A very wide horizon a beautifull sea color and a beautifull sky, cloudy but still full of light. The airport close to the sea is interesting, since it make a flat space, open to the sight, next to the shore and contributes to the large field of view. Excellent sharpness.

Wow, a very impressive post, Elzbieta. The lovely cloudscape frames the landscape well which has all the colours that we associate with the Caribbean. The landscape looks a little bit over-saturated, but the sky doesn't, so maybe those colours are for real after all. Cheers . . . David

Hello Elzbieta,
A great point of view over Fort Hill and Union Island. The colours are warm and very nice creating this tropical atmosphere so characteristic of those stops. The lights on the ground, the lines made by what seems to be an airfield are also nice to watch.
The clouds like Xavier says adds a lot of depth to the photo and fill well the top part of the photo.

Hi Elzbieta, this sims like a miniworld! Everything seems so tiny! Where were you standing? Very high I guess.
