Photographer’s Note

An old Dia/Slide scanned of the fantastic lakes and falls of the National Park of Plitvice, in Croatia. I went there 2 times during the first 80’s, when there was the Yugoslavia Federation.

"The waters flowing over the limestone and chalk have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which in turn have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls. These geological processes continue today. The forests in the park are home to bears, wolves and many rare bird species."

good use of the scanned picture, and its not turned out too bad, lacking quality and definition in some places though! im sure hte original is superb! well done, many many waterfalls coming together! this picture was taken before i was born! :o

Oh scanning. What a psin. It bleaches photos of colors and messes them up. I think you lost a lot but its not your fault. The composition is great and Im sure the original is great too.

Est ce que tu connaitrais d'autres artistes dans le style Gotan Project ou autres (en musique lente car je n'aime pas trop la musique rapide)-

I know the place very well. I spent some great time there. One of the most amazing natural areas I've ever seen.
Your photo was made from extraordinary point of view - I saw many. Branches make here excellent depth. Very good idea. Also fine work with the scan.

Nice picture of a nice place where i have been many years ago. The blue color give an ice and winter athmosphere.

This falls are simply great. Not a great quality though but I like the way you have rendered them.

Great and breathtaking, Paolo, and you framed it for the most powerful effect, though, IMO of course, just a tad too square, and a bit lessened by the overall blue cast and low saturation.

This looks like a place well deserving it’s classification by UNESCO. The series of waterfalls as well the fresh tones create a very nice landscape. Except that I fear that the water is freezing there it looks quite inviting to plunge into them

Great shot that reminds me a very nice trip in Croatia a few years ago. Effectively, the scan quality is not perfect, but the crop and POC are superb. Maybe could you apply an "antidust" filter to improve slightly the sharpness...

Sono stato a spasso per Italia e dintorni, inoltre il pc ha fatto un po' le bizze... E anche TE, a volte si blocca proprio del tutto. E' da ieri che cerco di commentare questa tua foto di Plitvice, anche perchè c'ero stato prima della guerra (3 mesi prima dell'inizio) e ci vorrei tornare. Ho ricordi magnifici, compreso un pettirosso che mi mangiava in mano e il ...quasi-avvistamento di un orso!
Hai colto un pov che fa sembrare le cascate quasi imbiancate di neve, inoltre mi piace molto il taglio quasi quadrato, dà molto spazio all'immagine e nello stesso tempo concentra tutta l'attenzione sulle cascate.
Se a settembre ci vado, tenterò di imitarti (...!?!)

this is a beautiful place, even with this specific "bleached colors", and your view and capture is magnificent...
However, you posted a "mirror image" (what's left should have been right, and vice versa...)

You have scanned the slide the wrong way! If you can please edit and re-submit. However waterfalls are strong and powerful due to melted snow, could be late winter.
