First Day of Summer in Ivrea Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is the Ponte Vecchio of Ivrea from another bridge (Ponte Isabella). I pass here several times, but that morning the luminosity of the sky and of the environment caught my attention and I decided to take a picture. This is a Roman bridge built on the place where the Dora River is more narrow.

che dire una immagine spettacolare piena di luce e colori,una composizione perfetta una sola domanda cosa sono quei due pali bianchi e rossi che sbucano dal fiume, sembra una porta da rugby.

The richness of the colours is amazing!
The air is clean and the light is good, resulting in this attractive scene...
A balanced composition where the river works as an effective lead-in, taking my eyes all the way to the mountains in the back!

The bright vivid colours of the houses and the blue sky above.
Astonishing effect: the two colours of water, created by the shadow.

Gabrielle,
This is a great shot with the river leading the eye into the shot. The kayak gates add a nice point of interest in the foreground. Your composition is great with the bridge creating a diagonal through the shot with the houses on one side of the scene. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

nice mountin landscape. You can feel the power of the river and almost hear it! Nice vivid colors (perhaps a little bit oversaturated IMO)...

Cuiao gabriele,
bellissimo scatto di questa zona di Ivrea con l'acqua del fiume che dà grande dinamicità ad uno scatto brillante.
Perfetta definizione e ottima luce sono le caratteristiche principali a mio avviso di una foto che e' esaltata dalla splendida inquadratura.

conosco molto bene questo angolo di Ivrea per averci vissuto qualche anno fa. Sia di giorno che di notte, sia con il sole come qui che con la pioggia, il Ponte Vecchio ha sempre un grande fascino. Grazie di avermelo fatto rivedere, dopo un po' di anni. Buona settimana, Dario.

Hi Gabrielle, looking at your gallery i must say that your work has improved in a very fast way. At early posts there were some washd out colors or composition details that were not perfect but now you handel the light, exposure and composition very very well and this post is a good example of it. Congratulations
