Photographer’s Note

One of my first digital shots back in the distant 2002.
Another sample of the magnificent Romanesque architecture that we can find in the Vall de Bohí.

The Vall de Boí is a narrow, steep-sided valley and a small municipality in the Spanish province of Lleida, in the autonomous community of Catalonia . It lies in the northeastern corner of the comarca of Alta Ribagorça, on the edges of the Pyrenees. It is the largest municipality of the region, with its main town being Barruera.

The valley is best known for its nine Early Romanesque churches, making it the site of the densest concentration of Romanesque architecture in Europe. It was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on 30 November 2000. The valley also includes the highest ski resort in the Pyrenees, at Boí-Taüll, and borders the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park which lies to the northeast.

In the image we can see the church of the little town of Durro,situated at an elevation of 1,386 metres, on a south-facing mountainside.

Una de mis primeras imagenes digitales, allá por el lejano 2002.
Otra muestra de la magnífica arquitectura románica que podemos encontrar en la Vall de Bohí.

La Vall de Bohí es un conjunto de valles y sierras situados en la zona nororiental de la comarca catalana de la Alta Ribagorza (provincia de Lleida) y que forma el municipio más extenso de la comarca. La cabeza del municipio se sitúa en la localidad de Barruera.

El valle es bien conocido por sus 9 iglesias de estilo románico, repartidas por su territorio, convirtiéndose en el lugar de Europa con mayor densidad de muestras de éste estilo. Edificadas durante los siglos XI al XIII, el conjunto fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco el 30 de noviembre del 2000.

En la imágen podemos ver la iglésia de la pequeña población de Durro, situado a unos 1386 metros de altitud.

Un buen lugar para encontrarse a uno mismo.

An excellent framing for thus typische catalan roman church. The lamp- the lamp of Felip .)- is very nice in the framing. Good management of light too and great prospect to the mountains.

Bon Dia Felip,
Una vall veritablement esplèndida i Durro no és gaire conegut. M'agrada veure velles fotografíes, les prime3res en digital ! Té un color com, no sé, molt 'romànic', no ? La composició molt bona i el fons amb els colors de la tardor. Tota la fotografía és 'tardor'.

has escollit un dels llocs millors de Catalunya per fotografiar. Ja té uns anyets la fotografia, però és molt bona, molt bé la composició! Aquest color li dona encara un toc més entranyable!!!

Que bellas iglesias las del valle de Boí, esta de Durro tiene un campanario expléndido que tus nos muestras maravillosamente, la luz tipicamente otoñal parece de atardecer.

Hi Felip,
very pretty place and nice composition. The colors are somehow greenish but the final effect is nice.
I really like this architecture and the setting is beautiful too. Also on the right you have a bonus: another lamp of Catalonia...

Este campanario hace más bien pensar en la vuelta. La fotografía inclina un poco. Este encuadre es agradable ante el paisaje alejado. Se ve bien. Bravo.

It not the first picture I have seen of this beautiful church. It is really pictureque and you have captured it the very best way. I note that it is taken in 2002 and it really looks like an old post card. I am surprised that it was a digital shot from the outset. TFS and have a nice evening!

Super foto, colores y definición optima,
el encuadre me gusta mucho, y esa adaptación con fuerte saturación y parece un cuadro pintado, muy buena trabajo!

Aunque hay saturación de colores, considero que no se ven mal, por el contrario, me agradan. La inclinación de la torre, si quizás la hubieras mejorado.

De por sí, me parece una bonita toma, donde la estructura y su composición, llaman la atención.

I've seen this structure before in a posting in this very site...maybe Roger's! Interesting bell tower 9which might be a bit tilted), towering over the small village...like the small bit of the lamp in the right frame. Good shot my friend!
