Photographer’s Note
This is a very rare photo, I should say. Is it interesting from the technical aspect? I don't know.
But I know that there are no such photos on TE and on other sites as well, and there are only a few photos of the church on the Net... and there are very few photos of Kisa. I happened to search through my archive and found this photo which I decided to post now.
You can have a look at the church here and there - an aerial view of the church.
The quality of the photo is not very good: it is a scanned image taken almost 10 years ago with a very simple film camera (a Samsung one). But this is the only "panoramic" photo of the church in Kisa which I have (the other one is with myself in front of it).
As the colours look rather strange (you can see it in the Workshop), I decided to post this desaturated variant as the main one.
The photo was taken one day while my friend (who lives in Linköping) and I went biking about the area. My friend suggested looking at this church because we got quite near it :)
In the Workshop you can see 2 other variants to which two different artistic filters were applied. It's up to you to decide which of these three variants looks more appealing :)
=================================================
The church of Kisa is part of the Östergötland parish. The church lies 5 miles to the south from Linköping and belongs to Linköping's diocese.
The church was built in the XIIIth century. In the middle of 1700s the church was rebuilt, and it preserved paintings from the 1700s. The altar was created in 1894 by Pehr Hörberg. The desk was made in 1762 by Jonas Berggren.
Detailed info about the church (in Swedish) is here.
A Wikipedia photo of the church is here.

Hej Elena,
Many, many years ago, there used to be picture postcards of every church in Sweden, they all looked something like this. So my first impression from the thumbprint was that this was just another picture postcard. Then I realise that you have included a link to the "original" postcard! But first I must say that this is a very well composed picture of this church and certainly a very good scan. But there are other churches on TE, for instance this, where both Gert and I had our first and last communions...

Hi Elena,
I have googled Kisa Kyrkan and it has deserved attention indeed, although I think that concerning the architecture this church is not very spectacular. But it is a typical village church like so many others in Scandinavia. Your capture of it is very nice with a perfect perspective. I also like the mood you created with PP. My compliments!
Warm regards
Harriet

Hi Elena,
Even though it was taken ten years ago and is scanned it is a wonderful photo. It reminds me of an old post card. I would also say that this is a church that is rather typical for Östergötland in style. Excellent POV and and an excellent diagonal line starting from the bottom right corner. TFS and have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Ulf

dear Elena,
north European and Russian old churches show us unique characteristics different from middle and south Europe.
this your "old" shot of The church of Kisa looks based the simple and unsophisticated feeling of people there, I like it.
and maybe it was generated by the climate there, the meaning of the sky is quite different from other portions. then the meaning of tower too.
anyway, your sepia version is my favorite, it shows us very clear image and calm atmosphere so well.
sepia sky sometimes looks very blue than colored sky, after all even the color sensation is on our imaginative feeling.
thank you for your beautiful picture.

Hello my dear Elena
What a beautiful and attractive photo !
The choice of B&W is quite right, very antic image you have got. I think this is the best in your recent submissions. Good combination, framework, composition and calm color balance. Congratulation on your super shot !

The note is interesting, explaining your step and the reasons for your choices. The result is a photograph which resembles an old postcard enough, with an aspect which generates nostalgia. It pleasant and is very successful. Cheer.

Hello Elena,
My first reaction, which I think I shared with others, was that this was a typical Swedish postcard from the 1950's. They all looked like this. You show the church from a fine perspective and made a good decision to convert the photo to b&w.
A pleasant view. Thanks for sharing,
Gert

Hello Elena
Looks like an old postcard without the ragged edges and fingerprints. I understand why you turned this to sepia as I once had to do the same. This version is sharp and full of detail. Tfs, Marlene

Without your note detailing the 'history' of the photograph, It could have been difficult for me to distinguish it from other similar photographs.
You've put in hard work to post this shot, which is evident from 2 more shots in WS. Looking at all three of them collectively, I prefer this desaturated one- it somehow goes with your note.

Hi Elena,
A good solution to show this in B&W. A perfect composition with a nice perspective. Together with your excellent note and its extra links, this is an attractive TE contribution.

Hi Elena,
I like your pov showing the lonely road leading us to the church, nice to see lighting effect with creating complicated shading on the road, good perspective effect, good frame to the church, gardening and cemeteries, artistic old photo in sepia color, good scanned image, well done.

Hello Elena, Nice perspective & composition, I like the path leading to this lovely old church & the inclusion of the gave headstones. It has the look of a classical postcard on an era passed, I also like your PP work you have given it a real old genuine look & atmosphere. I prefer this to the others, to me they look almost like a tapestry.
Brava.

Santo

Very interesting "antique" photo. It seems to have the quality of an old newspaper clipping. I like the angle of this photo as well, with the line to the church. Overall nice composition.
Sincerely,
Kate

I was immediately striken by this photo: it looks like an old postcard: the same charm of W&B, same classic perspective and composition, same old times atmosphere. It's one of those photos "out of time", like the plates of an old book or magazine, and so It was good on your part to recuperate and post it.
TFS,
