Photographer’s Note
A shot of Switzerland, for a change.
Well, this is my vision of the city... I myself still can't really understand whether to consider this photo "successful" or not. So, it's up to you to judge!
I decided to post this photo because there are not too many photos which show Zurich from an "irregular" point of view.
On the left: part of the monument to Alfred Escher, a renowned Zьrich politician and entrepreneur, near Zьrich Hauptbahnhof.
On the right: just a tram...
I am still under a very strong impression that Zurich is a "city of trams". Sometimes it seems to me that there are more trams than people there! :)
I just got an idea that Zurich lives up to its name (from the phonetic point of view) perfectly: pronounce it - and you will hear the sound of Business!
Oh, that reminds me...
"If you utter my name I won't exist anymore. What am I...?"
By the way, that morning, despite all the trams around, the city was filled with .... silence.
Sunshine and silence.
Because it was Sunday?..

Hi Elena,
If as you say in your note an irregular point of view, but I like it, because is a daily point of view, with the streetcar and buildings magestuosos in the profunidad, I notice an intense light that you have could control, great colors!!!
Best Regards,

Hi, Elena!
I like your "irregular" POV on this business city. Composition is very good. You captured on one shot so much different objects. Spirit of city was reproduced very impressive.
Good luck.

Hej Elena,
I like the curve of the street, underscored by the curved tram. I also like the way the tram has been cut off, just like the statue is partly cut off. The tight cropping narrows the view and deepens the perspective towards the buildings in the centre and the left of the photo.
Hдlsningar frеn ett varmt och soligt Stockholm.

Hi Fanni,
Interesting title here, is it a riddle? Is the answer "silence"? Nice picture anyway, but if you like trams, you should go to Gothenburg, there seem to be more trams here than there are tracks for. Consequently, they all run late... This is definitely a photo worth posting, but you forgot to clone out all the cables ;))
Kind regards

Hello Elena.
I like the viewpoint you have chosen, and the strong perspective effect created by the curved tracks and tram on the right side and the statue on the other. The grass and flowers make a nice splash of colour. The sky is rather pale but there's not much you can do about that, apart from using layers or HDR to render it in more detail. I don't mind the overhead wires, but I think perhaps more could be shown of the statue, if not all of it.
I like your note.
The public transport 'experts' in my city, Melbourne, are always citing Zurich as the world's best example of how to run a public transport system. However, if you want to see a lot of tram track, Melbourne has the world's biggest functioning network; it is NOT the most efficient!

Andrew

dear Elena,
this shot reminds me of the legend of Lorelei...
it looks quite like a modern situation of it.
in this ambience I can hear the attractive song and imagine the flowing boat on this picture.
anyway in Zurich, surely the time is passing a little slowly like this tram,
a beautiful view of well-ordered city is timeless too.
thank you,
Akihisa

Silence could be painnful for your ears if you are not used to it... Fine composition from this beautiful city. The tram how ever might not be that quiet :).

Hello my dear Elena
What a marvelous shot !
Good framing, color management and well calucurated composition for the components. Very simple composition but it has very strong message too, nice shot indeed.

Hello Elena,
Maybe not the most often shown view from Zьrich, but this is a really worth while photo to show. A good POV and the composition is excellent with the curved road leading the eye to the distance. The tram emphasizes the perspective. Perfect control of light and good natural colours. Excellent depth and sharpness. Thanks for sharing!
Greetings from warm and sunny Finland,

Elena
The tram describing a slight curve adds to the building a curious optical effect like it was not straight but in reallity it is. The tram enlivens the picture for its strong blue and white coulors. The fountain caught too much sunlight effect and I know how difficult it is to photograph such statues. A part of it is darkened or too lightened as well. Warm regards. Tomi

Hi Elena,
I like how you used the tram in the composition.
It creates many various lines enhancing the perspective and leading the viewer's eyes to the center.
Good idea with the monument.

Dear Elena! I just had to double-check but you are really coming in July ... I thought I had missed something. I have just sent you an email trying to answer the questions you had about Zuerich. I hope I could answer them somehow. This is a nice catch with the famous Zuerich tram and the monument on the side. I get this view five days a week so this is very familiar to me. Good catch, Elena, let's try to find new sides when you are in Zuerich again ... Best regards, Barbara.

Hello Elena
In one photo you have summed up the atmosphere of this city. You are very good at showing cities as they actually are rather than as the relevant local tourist board would like visitors to remember this city. Tfs, Marlene

Hello Elena,
This poor fountain seems to me very alone, no room to walk by; or you have to watch carefully if a tram is comming. This is a perfect view of a modern city; tram, car (not too mutch it must be on early morning ?)but where are the people, where is the live? Who care about the fountain ? and even the poor flowers.
Is it not sad ??
I don't know if it whas what you wanted to show but this what I feel. And I like picture which "says" something to me.
Best regards

Hello Elena,
I notice this large set of tramcars, hopefully that means less cars in the streets (I can see only two here hehehe)!
The curving rails leads to fine lines including the tram, dynamic framing and a good feeling of depth...
The yellow flowers offers some colour contrast!

Hi Elena,
I picked this up from your gallery as I just returned from Switzerland - and like trams. I think the statue and tram balance each other. Curving line makes composition more dynamic. Yes it is peaceful. Sunday is the day to visit that city. Unless you want to shop which I rarely do.
