Photographer’s Note
After comments on the original version of this photo I re-scanned the negative using my new scanner - I hope the results show.
Morton National Park straddles both valley and highland areas with a very steep escarpment. The first road up to the highlands from the coast was Meryla Pass which is now just a steep track open to walking only.
A few years ago before the road was closed to cars I drove down the top, steepest section, in my trusty old Subaru - the road was covered in deep mud but going down proved to be worse than coming back up. This water hole was near the remains of a long abandoned old farm about half way down the pass. We had to watch where we walked because there were poisonous snakes everywhere.
Scanned from a negative.

An interesting location in rural NSW,Ian, It is an attractive place and is enhanced by the good reflection in the water. I usually find that scanned images lose something in both sharpness and in saturation. I am glad you survived your famous poisonous snakes.I Never managed to see one, in my wanderings in outback Oz, but I am still hoping. regards Kevin
