Photographer’s Note

Dateline: Mother's Day, 10th May 2009, Mandurah, Western Australia. I sneaked out of the house before she awoke, and drove a few kilometres to the mouth of the Serpentine River: I'd spotted this lagoon previously, and knew if there were some good clouds in the sky at dawn, it would put on a show - I was not disappointed!
Then it was a quick drive home again, in time to treat 'the other half' to breakfast in bed!

Stunning sunrise. I love the reflection of the pink clouds. The bit of shoreline on the right corner helps add depth.

Perfect excuse to leave home that early. That sky is amazing, but also the reflection in the lake, you really found a great spot here. Title says it all....indeed the best time of the day....wonderful image.
