Photographer’s Note
The Great Barrier Reef ... a dream. You cannot leave Australia without being in that spectacular and unique place, which I have the feeling it's a real natural sunken City. Its inhabitants are colorful; thousands; millions; and the streets, avenues, vegetation, parks, mountains, rocks, homes, are spectacular. I was so busy looking everywhere that I had no time to take all the photographs I wished to. I left Cairns at 08:30 am and after two hours and half we arrived to Michaelman's Cay. Just a tiny key, the home of thousands of birds. Just a few figures of The great Barrier Reef; extension approx.280.000 to 340.000 km2; coast line 1.930 kms long. Bigger than Italy or United KIngdom. 1.500 different fish species; 400 different corals; 4000 different molluscs. After 3 p.m. all the cays, islands and spaces have to be free of visitors. It's a way to preserve this wonderland. I think it has been one of my happiest day in my life. I do not like very much swimming, although I love sailing ! It was my first time of snorkeling ! Incredible.
