Photographer’s Note
Catch the 4185 bound for earth, taken at the very futuristic looking Britomart Station in Downtown Auckland. One of the most Intriguing and bizarre station I have ever been to, it is a must see if you are ever in Auckland.
F/16 @ 10 seconds.

Hi Jim, you make something extraordinary out of something ordinary here. I love the POV, and the way you've made the most of the lights overhead. The tones also are just beautiful (never thought I'd be saying that about a train station)! I like your use of the vertical frame and the effect created by the 10 second exposure, especially on the lights which seem like stars. This really reminds me of that time I was abducted by aliens....TFS, Lisa.

hi Jim,
this IS spooky, the large lamps and shining metal of the train create a weird feeling, like something from "Mad Max" movies :) superb light management, and I like a lot the yellow accents against the metal. fascination shot, I like it.

Hello Jim. An interesting and photo worth seeing. The old cargo train and the modern station, - both together works old and futuristically at the same time. Good technical quality. Regards, Wolfgang.

Excellent capture, Jim. It looks very futuristic indeed. Great saturation of colours and exposure. The 'lamps' function as a kind of trompe-l'oeuil, making it difficult to figure out their actual size. Or are they UFO-taxi's waiting for passengers?

Hi Jim!
I'm happy to discover your new collection of memories!
Funny cohabition here, between this antique locomotive and the fantastic lamps, which look like UFOs. I like your management of light. The cold light and the yellow and blue mood make it even more weird. You also found a good POV to enhance the graphism of the lines and the perspective. Good job !
Best regards

freight-train is fantastic, as well as the lighting and the colors. this seems to be a very interesting

hi Jim,
a nice designed station with futuristic look, the lights like flying saucers. Nice mood.
A good exposure control to give this fine light and these colours.

Hi Jim,
as already mentioned it is really a weird atmosphere of this modern station you have captured here. Excellent photo work, the POV works fantastic and the management of the light is outstanding. I also like the title. Congratulation!

Hi Jim,
This does look like a scene out of Startrek, and your excellent POV has made the most of it.
I love this sort of "way out" architectural creativity, especially in a train station, who'd have thought.
Good quality, exposure, sharps and composition all executed perfectly.
Regards
Peter.

Hey Jim,
I think I like this one a little better than the latest. I like the combination of the modern architectural design, yet the reminiscence of the old with the inclusion of the display of the old locomotive. This look like a movie set where the lovers parted. I can almost see the steam from the passionate last kiss….
Great shot with melancholy atmosphere. Technically all is just fine. Good POV and composition. Well manage light and colors.

Hi Jim,
7 photos on your gallery all wonderful!
This one is my preferred! This combination of forms around blues and oranges is absolutely fantastic. It has to be, as you say it, an extraordinary place to be visited uppermost in New Zealand.
Congratulations and best regards!
