Photographer’s Note

On the beautiful drive down the east coast of New Zealand's S Island, I passed through Clarence, a few kilometres north of Kaikoura: I think I'm right in saying Clarence is part of the Marlborough district, but it could just squeeze into Canterbury.
Here, the river levels were low again after evidence of recent heavy rains.

Hello Jeff,

I love the idea of RAW images; they seem to produce the very finest quality. I was unaware of this formatting until after my most recent camera was purchased which does not have this feature. The Fg compo here is very good, the silty rocks add plenty of interest. The towering bridge, which in actual fact I recall driving over, breaks up the sky well. The snow capped peaks are o-so-New Zealand. Well done.

Hi Jeff,
Great deep scene. Although the bridge is simple, and not really a beauty, it adds extra dimension to this. There's still certain sense of wilderness here, especially with those mountain peaks in the background.
(Clarence is in the region of Canterbury. maps.google.com is a handy tool to solve questions like this.)

What a beautiful place !
Wonderful colours depth and clarity . Amazing mountains in the background and funny patternin the foreground . Good you included that too !
The bridge is well placed and underlines the depth of your photo !
