Photographer’s Note

Hi all. Another from Lake Dunstan.
These two young fishermen were out enjoying the good weather with their uncle when we called in for another photo stop.
The trouble with travelling in this part of the country on a good day is that the photo op’s are many and you invariably end up late at your destination, worth the trouble though ;-).

I just makes me crazy to see your images a few days later... I can tell you I have not been too late at my destination... or it was just because of snow on the road :o))

Marvelous image, the reflection is so nice and the inclusion of the 2 young boys is a must.

Hello Paul,

Nice shot with the warm color of the autumn leaves in nice opposition to the overall blue tones of sky and water.
At first look, I had not noticed the 2 fishermen but they are bringing a human touch to this landscape.

What a beauty ! The reflection is so perfect , in tis beautiful calm mirror . But the fantastic contrast of the golden trees with other softer colors is another great feature in this picture .

Hi Paul, Even without the boys this would have been a great image. The perfectly flat water providing reflection of the autumn colours. They are a nice addition. If anything, I would like to have seen them a little more prominant - these are a bit lost in the dark area of the shore. Nevertheless a great image. cheers, Steve

Nice one Paul, a place to go and relax for sure and the colors are superb but it brings me to a story I have to tell you. My grandsons asked my wife for some thread and a safety pin while we were staying in the motel near Disneyland. The pond in the back (a rain water catch basin) of the motel was where they wanted go try their had at angling, bear in mind they were maybe 6 and 4 at the time. As they started out on their adventure the 4 year old stopped the proceedings and said they needed a bucket for the fish they were going to catch. We still laugh about it now, 10 years later. Imagine where their imagination would have take them at the sight of this beautiful lake. Great work.

Hallo Paul,

Looks very nice and although i remember the name Cromwell, i'm sure i did not stopped here. The fall colours look very beautiful, just as the light that falls over it. Nice bend along the shoreline and with a nice reflection to top it off...a real good one you present here.

This is a lovely, peaceful image. It's amazing how still and calm the water is, which makes for really clear reflections upon its surface.

I like your composition, with the point jutting out to the right almost, but not quite, filling the frame, inviting our gaze around and behind. I like the deep shadows in the mountains as well, against the pale blue sky.

Olá Paul, splendid autumn scenery. Marvellous reflections with a nice inclusion of the young fishermen at the margin. In a way, it reminds me the lake district in patagonia, around Bariloche town. Excellent work with WS2 as well, in my opinion it's a better result.

Hi Paul,
Wonderful Autumn view. Besides the amazing reflection, I like how the margin goes from the corner to the upper right. Along with the triangle suggested by the mountains and their reflections, it makes the upper left golden point the focal point. The contrast of the bluish light with the yellow of the leaves is also beautiful. And don't forget the half hidden presence of the young fishermen, which is like a bonus for the most careful viewers or those who read the note.
