This image corresponds to the Museum of Religious Art, which together with the chapel of the Virgin Of The Remedios and the Chapel of Our Lady of Letrán, comprising the religious complex of La Merced in the city of Cali.

Cali was born in the year 1536 by Sebastian de Belalcazar initially north of its present position, but directed the captain Miguel Muñoz place to relocate the city today, where the chaplain Fray Santos de Añasco a mass celebrated in the place occupied today by this complex.

This monastery was inhabited by monks Mercedarios until 1813, when it was headquarters of the troops of General Mosquera and subsequently passed into the hands of the nuns Agustinas Recoletas.

It was declared a National Monument in February 1975.

It should be noted that these buildings were made of stone, bricks made from clay and glued on the basis of lime, eggshells and the effort and blood of slaves and animals.

Wow! With simplicity, you did such a fabulous job here (as usual, I dare say!). The level of sharpness is excellent, the exposure is perfect, depth of field is fantastic, the pov was extremely well chosen and the composition (though simple... I repeat) worked superbly in here!

Your photo included splendid result of skilfully build point of view. Amazing one! Excellent capture of courtyard's corner, especially with shadow of tree on white facade. Stone layered alley, terracotta roof tiles, wooden doors, vivid green are just wonderful. The clarity and sharpness are eye catcher as same every time too. Congratulations. Hello john,
A fine view of this historic monastery, brought in clear colours and with light well controlled allowing the shadows to play over the light surfaces. And the tree with its wonderful curving branches adds life to the view.

Hola John,
me gusta mucho el efecto creado por las sombras en la blancura de este edificio, has tenido un buen ojo para jugar con su grafismo en este encuadre, en el que podemos ver el árbol que las proyecta.
La sencillez de la arquitectura, sus formas y la perspectiva que dan sus dos fachadas en ángulo recto trabajan muy bien en la composición.
Bien realizada.

Hola John, para mi la luz en este bonito encuadre
es lo más sobresaliente y esas sombras de los árboles
sobre las paredes encaladas del convento.
Colores naturales y buena definición.

Just a wonderful composition, relying on the angles and the twisted tree and its shadow. The light is superb, and the shadow of the tree is delightful. The photo has the careful composition/crop and sharpness of detail that you reveal in all your photos. Very nice picture.

I quite like the photo, especially how the twisted tree contrasts with the neat angles and lines of the building and the path in the foreground. I seem to detect some halo around the tree on the right, did you use shadow/highlight tool? minor point though, I do like the photo.

Bonjour,
belle photo de cette enseinte religieuse aussi jolie qu' une acenda.
Cet arbre est magnifique et donne a l' ensemble un bel aspect.

Hola John.
Se ve como una foto sencilla pero la verdad que tiene una magnifica composición. El manejo de la luz con las sombras del precioso árbol reflejados en la pared de la vieja iglesia es muy bueno. Los contrastes de colores y tu POV son estupendos así como la perfecta definicion (foco), gracias por tu nota descriptiva.

Una foto muy bien compuesta, con una luz, colores y nitidez maravillosas. Las sombras suaves contribuyen para su encanto, así como el pintoresco del árbol y el jardín bien arreglado en su simplicidad. Me recuerda los patios de algunas casonas de mi región y de España.

muy interesante las formas del arbol contrastando con la simplicidad de la arquitectura, luz suave y muy hermoso punto de vista e marco. Tengo un plan de conoscer colombia y ecuador, una de las pocas tierras de sud-américa que no conosco aun. imagino que colombia sea muy hermosa, llena de interes y muchas variaciones de paisage.
conosci una niña de su pais y cuando le pergunté sobre la seguridad ella se quedo muy furiosa comigo, disse que no habia problema algun con esto, que se poderia viajar por todo país sen problemas. piensas usted lo mismo ? deseo conocer bogotá y cartagena, pero hay tantas ciudads hermosas en su pais.. pero el viage no será tan temprano,
