Photographer’s Note
In Paris, as in most western cities, people on the streets seem to be always in a hurry, especially if heading for, or inside, a Metro station. The city around them is beautiful, but they are not slowing to appreciate it. Probably that's because it will still be there to look at tomorrow, at which point they will rush again because it will still be there to look at the next day...

Bonjour Ken,
Une très belle photo N%B, j'aime bien la perspective de la barrière qui se poursuit par la rue et les immeubles.
Une belle animation, de bons contraste.
Bonne journée

Hello Ken! I run a lot from a to b, and sometimes I think I am totally nuts because there is ALWAYS another train or tram and even a taxi would be affordable and I guess the metro system offers the same. BUT: I still see the beauty of my town and many times I had wished that I had a camera with me, mornings at the Limmat River are just wonderful and when the Alps push from the Foehn wind and you think they stand right in town, it knocks you out. I guess the Parisians are the same, I know that they love their town but what they like most are the arts, this is when they become slow. Anyway, you have the rush hour right in your picture, very well captured and I see me running downstairs just the same. This is really good, I like it ... happy weekend, Barbara.

Hello Ken. An interesting everyday life photo. Black-and-white in the classical style. Outstanding. Regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Ken,
I like the dynamic non-stop feeling here. The way the geometry of the stairs interacts with the railings, with the blur on the man, together gives your shot an escalator up and down kind-of-feeling. Well - to me at least! The b&w treatment is nicely done, too.

Hi Ken,
Great! I love the way you used the stairs handrail, dividing the streets. The deph is incredible, it would be better without the motorcicle parked there, but...
Regards,
Flavia

I think that this photo shows very well the soul of Paris - anyway, this is exactly how I saw it when I was there recently, here with a great POV and perspective !
