an elderly "Dalit" lady from Moti-bagh, New Delhi.

it is an old picture.. i have edited it again. i love her strong "androgynous" look here..

Genelde alt kastlardaki Hint kadınının durumu içler acısı olsada, yaşlandıkça aile ve sosyal çevre içinde daha sevgi ve saygı, dirayet ve güç kazanıyorlar (özellikle bir erkek çocuğunun annesi olmuşsa)..

Belki de doğu kültürlerinin genel bir özelliği bu..

Excellent portrait EVren - I like the strong, direct eye contact.
I think you've overdone the sharpening a bit though. It's particularly noticeable on that hard edge to the out of focus headscarf on the right. I'd suggest only applying sharpening selectively to those areas of the image that need it, and leave the out of focus areas of the image unsharpened.
Nonetheless, an excellent portrait.

Hello Evren!
I understand what you mean by androgenous look. She obviously is a lady, but she has such strenght in her eyes and such strong lines in her face that just a quick look won't be enough to decide...
the tight framing also emphasizes on her strenght, as well as the high contrasts given by the oh so nice Tri-X.

peki, ayda bire de razıyız... şık bir portre bu evren... belki çözünürlüğü çok iyi değil ama çatık ve kalın kaşlarla çevrili o delici, ve evet androjen, bakışlar unutturuyor bu detayı...
elinize sağlık... yine bekleriz:)...

Görüşmeyeli herhalde bir dört sene olmuştur :) Döndünüz mü? Enfes bir portre çalışması bu. Model karşımda canlı dursa bu kadar etkileyici olmaz. Kim bilir daha neler vardır arşivde...

a very expressive face and look for this portrait. This old woman must have seen a lot in her life. Good frame, close to her face.
And good contrast of the black and the white "colors".

evet, bizde de doğuda böyle ya..
çok güzel portre imiş, maalesef bu kopyada çok jpeg artifact var..
