Photographer’s Note
The famous glaciar of Perito Moreno is about 80km from El Calafate town. In the middle of the way there's a very nice restaurante with wonderful views. We stopped there for a coffee and met this cute baby guanaco warming under the sun by the side of a client drinking mate, the national drink of argentina.
Mate is the national drink in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, and drinking it is a common social practice in parts of Brazil, Chile, eastern Bolivia, Lebanon and Syria.
Mate is an infusion, containing stimulants including caffeine, prepared by steeping dried leaves of yerba mate in hot water.

Chulengo is how young guanacos are called. The guanaco (Lama guanicoe) is a camelid animal native to South America that stands between 107 and 122 centimeters (3.5 and 4 feet) at the shoulder and weighs about 90 kg (200 lb). The colour varies very little, ranging from a light brown to dark cinnamon and shading to white underneath. Guanacos have grey faces and small straight ears. They are extremely striking with their large, alert brown eyes, streamlined form, and energetic pace. The name Guanaco comes from the South American language Quechua word "huanaco."

Hello Ricardo,
I notice that baby lamas have the same feature as baby humans... a comparatively large head!
And I'm surprised they keep them inside restaurants hehehe....
A funny documentary telling as bit of the story of this remote community!

Olá Ricardo,
Here is a beverage which must be reinvigorating, you drank it perhaps !!! An original photograph. This smiling man seems well sympathetic and this young lamas is quite placid. A beautiful photograph, I like much the side light which gives a pretty relief to the image. Well done Ricardo and thank you for the interesting note.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,

Ricardo,
How dare you come here before me. I'm planning on going late this year, I hope it will come true.
Nice shot, good double portrait, very causual. I enjoy it.
What is wrong with the points? Who really care. It doesn't buy you anything or pay your tax. If anyone who has any problem with it, they just angry because they not getting any. I'm happy someone leave me a critique, no point needed, but I still will critique them back, it only fair, just like you walking on the street and someone say "Ola" and you said "Hello" that's how society work. Why should I say "Hi" to you when you don't say it back. It just that some people expect to get lot of critiques without having to critique someone elses. But they are angry that someone get a lot of critiques. The longer you here, the more people you know, the more critiques you get, points or no points.
Yes there are some average photos get more points thant the good one, big deal.

Ricardo,
Excelente foto e nota, amigo. Realmente é absolutamento comum no sul do Brasil.

Hi Ricardo,
I see you have turn the points off...respect for that..!!!
The smile on his face his relaxing pose and the guanaco in front makes this a nice documentary shot. Technical speaking his feet is cutt off, but that's not really important in such a shot...it's the smile what does the trick here...very nice.
Have a nice weekend,

Docarmo

Hi Ricardo,
Interesting note. Captivating shot. It caught my eye right away. The lighting is excellent. Bright and shinny by not overexposed. The Lama and the man in the photo are equally interesting to look at.
Fantastic,

That is pretty close, and it's an excellent shot. I had no idea that there is an animal like guanaco, thanks now I know. You wisely used the sun to paint some spots with light and others with shadows, what worked very well. The colors are vibrant, full of live, and the sharpness is fine. Well done
Best regards
Urs
