To be on the hammock or to dream about the hammock...
This is the main problem in Polonezköy...
Adampol - Polonezköy today - was founded by Adam Czartoryski in 1842. He was the chairman of National Uprising Government and the leader of a political emigration party. Because of the name of the founder that place was named Adam-koj, which means "Village of Adam" (abbreviation form Adampol). Duke Adam Czartoryski wanted to create the second emigration centre (the first was Paris). He sent his representative, Michał Czajkowski, to Turkey. Michał Czajkowski, after converting into the Islam in 1850, was known as Mehmed Sadyk Pasza. He bought some forest area from a missionary order of lazarists. It was planned to create Adampol on that area in the future.
At the beginning the village was inhabited by 12 people, but there were not more than 220 people when the village was most populated. In the course of time Adampol developed and was flooded by a lot of emigrants from the rebellion in November 1830, the Crimean War (1853) and by runaways from Siberia and from Czerkieska captivity. The first inhabitants busied with agriculture, raising and forestry. Before the II World War the first tourists had already arrived. The inhabitants of Adampol took the Turkish citizenship in 1938.
Today, many hotels and restaurants are in service at the village, the inhabitants are mainly involved in urban tourism.

Deniz,
a story with a very sensitive image. The light management is superb. Surprisingly enough the OE in the dreamers face is not disturbing at all and that despite all the rest of the image is predominantely in deep shadows. Wonderful gesture of the head towards the hammock suggesting that play of wirds that you put as a subtitle: to be on the hammock or to dream about the hammock. All the architecture of the gazebo sustaining the vegetation gives with the wide-angle lens that feeling of converting to the gap between the ladies face and the hammock underlying that play between the dream andhe hammock.

Merhaba...

Hi Deniz,
this one is really great, combining a real leisurely moment with a sense of dream, light and shadows, your special touch for them, a little piece of nature and human presence. Lovely natural pose of the model...to nitpick, a tad too sharp in the foliage, but I have a very sensitive screen for that :). Compliments !
Take care

Welcome back Deniz. I know, it is already some time since you're back. But I'm not. ;-) You are probably the same and, at the same time, totally different... It happens.
Love that photo. I saw it a few times already. The Hammock Story is definitively a dreamy one. The "sleeping" girl, dreaming of the lazy days of Summer... when we can sit at a table and laugh and eat with the people we care for... You see, I make my own story. It doesn't go with yours, but photos can be that too, an open door to our own dreams...

Dear Deniz, really nice to see you back ! This one is marvellous, no doubts - I love the pose of the girl, but why is she leaning uncomfortably on that chair when the inviting hammoc is waiting for her ? Rhetorical question, of course - her pose is just perfect for the photo !
... A photo that reminds me of the Symbolists in painting... But it's great photography, congrats !
