Photographer’s Note
Taken exactly one year ago, the sunrise above the famous cliffs of Etretat.
I arrived in Etretat the day before in the afternoon, superb blue sky, sun, just some clouds hiding the sun at sunset, but perfect blue hour on the illuminated cliffs in the late evening. I made about 500 pictures that day…
After a short night, I woke up at 4 to catch the sunrise, but the sky was grey… However, I climbed up to the cliffs and at least a very small part in the east was blue, so I could have at least some nice colors in the sky, no light at all on the cliffs.
The day went then all grey, even with some rain, I could try out the pictures from the day before, deleting 300 snapshots…

I have never visited this area, and I think I should do it.
A very quiet atmosphere, and a wild place. Very good colors of the incoming sunrise.
I like the control of the exposure, without any post production trick like hdr or similar, which make fake pictures (very much loved by many people, but just fake pictures, like cartoons)

Bonjour Didier,
I like the pink colours to the horizon.
Excellent perspective through the long cliffs, this care for depth these leads us very far to the background.
Nice composition and pleasant picture for look at.
Very well done, TFS.
Amicalement,
John.
