Photographer’s Note
CANCER
A word that strikes fear. The dirty word. Something to be afraid of. But nowadays people are fighting back.
In the UK almost everyone knows someone who either has the disease or has died from it. And around the world there are many that are afflicted or have passed away from the disease, unbeknown to them. 'She had Bad Blood'. 'He had Bad Lung'. 'They got sick'.
So tie a pink ribbon...
Today Race for Life held a 5km sponsored run at Old Deer Park on the outskirts of London to raise money for research into, and the treatment of, cancer. A women-only run and over 3000 ran today. Each with their own story of a family member or a friend afflicted by this horrible disease. And each wanting to raise as much money as possible to support Cancer Research in the UK, and of course the world over.
