Laufenburg Castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

I'm back after some minor body fixing related to my increasing age ;))

Situated on the Rhine bank about 40 kms away from Basel, Laufenburg dates from the days of the Habsburgs (it was founded by Rudolf II in 1207), and the medieval character of this bridgehead settlement has been to a large extent preserved. All that is left of the once mighty castle, however, is this massive tower and some town fortifications.

Nice image Jean. colorful and with a delicious light.
trees are very well captured, as the tower.
the sky is really beautiful.
it is the Basel flag?

Belle image aux couleurs vives.
Heureusement qu'il y a un peu de vent, ça permet de bien voire le drapeau.

C'est toujours un beau sujet çà un drapeau au vent sur une tour. Les couleurs ici sont très belles, la composition très réussie. J'aime beaucoup les détails très fins des arbres au premier plan. Bien vu !

A clear no-nonsense framing in this one, Jean-Yves. Crisp details and a good placement of the tower as the central interest of this compo. Nice springtime colors, good light, and well timed to see the flag proudly waving in the wind.

Hey J-Y. I hope it wasn't anything too serious you needed body fixing for. I like the way we're looking up at this large castle. It's fun to see how the light is playing with all of the surfaces here. As an added bonus you got the flag flapping strongly. Very nice one Jean-Yves.

I like this scene Jean Yves, with the old tower standing and flag flying so strongly among the green, green trees and against the blue, blue sky. The sunshine warms the scene up so well. I like your POV looking upwards. Good job and thank you.
