Photographer’s Note
Yangon's ferry seats are colorful plastic chairs for kids : grab a blue or red chair at the entrance and chose your sitting location on the deck where you want or anywhere you can find remaining space.
A short but strong monsoon storm raged on Yangon's ferry harbor. We stepped from the gangway inside the ferryboat : every seat had already been taken... so Ye opened up a few private doors, we were in the passengers or staff cabins area.. no one there except a little vendor girl who had nothing to sell, plenty of time to lose and two eyes to gaze.
She didn't want nor say anything.. I still wonder why she stayed with us for the 30 minutes of the ferry crossing trip to Dalla.

Hi,
Really like this.
The colours and composition are excellent.
I like the dof ~ background in focus enough to see what it is but not enough to distract.
Great work.

Why? i can tell you why i would stay with two strangers on a ferry. being a shy but incredibly curious child i would simply watch and listen and not say much. she seems rather withdrawn and full of distrust but her curiosity makes her stay where you are with a load of photographic equipment(?).
i wonder why she had these marks on her face. they must have been done on purpose.
anyway, i like your composition. simplicity

Lovely portrait Luko. very sharp on the girl, and good depth of field. gret colours and lighting also. Overall the shot has a lovely feel of childhood innocence and curiousity.

Salut Luko.

Bravo.
J'adhère.

nicely captured moment luko. the contrast and lighting is beautiful, the shadowy area on the left enhances the shy feeling we get from the girl. nice title too.

i just commented maciej on this about the mixed look of distrust and curiosity you can only find in children when they encounter something new and different. she is still "closed" but with a simple smile and a few kind words she'd open up just as easily as the doors, the window and the folding chair.

Very pleasing Luko, I am not sure if its the framing or the soft colour tones here that make it so attractive to the eye. The textures of the old timbers make it soft.

I thought for a moment that this was posted by Manny... ;-) You seldom treat us to photos of doe-eyed children gazing up at the camera lens. But this image, in addition to being quite good, certainly serves the note you include. Perhaps she was as facinated with you as you were with her.
The markings on her face are quite distinctive. I can't quite tell but it appears this is a design rather than smudges of some sort. I appreciate the contrast of this young, colorful girl against a well worn and rather more colorless setting. It would have been interesting to see what it would look like were you able to shoot at a wider aperture that created a bit more bokeh in the background. I'm beginning to develop an appreciation for such things as I play with a few faster lenses. I've much to learn and your work continues to inspire me. Thanks Luko for sharing your work with all of us.

Re salut Luko,
Bref, je vais aller me coucher, elle me botte grave ton image Luko
Merci pour le partage
Amicalement

hello Luko
j'aime bcp !

Hi Luko,
i think this one is deserve my green smile, of couse i want to send you a yellow smile or motivate rating, but cannot find the reason. i am use to sending green smile, and have enough green smile to send. sometimes i thought i should send light green smile or others, but still chose green smile. that is a bad habit. but i dont like the yellow smile. i always thought people who send that smile and do not say a words must be very cold, dont like smile, dont like talking, like live in iceland. I dont like to be that people.
great shot!

This is really beautiful. I love the soft, subtle colours (as well as the 2 matching green stripes) and the fact that you've shown just enough details to hint at the environment around her. A very interesting expression too.

Hi Luko, just looking back through some old stuff... aside from her entrancing timid pose, I especially like the effect of the very gentle light and near-monochrome background details.
