Photographer’s Note
In Rotterdam near the shopping mall are little fountains that unexpectedly start working and unexpectedly stop again. On sunny days, many children run around and walk between the fountains. I like to go there, especially when I'm a bit depressed, the children are so very happy there.
This little girl was very impressed and not yet at ease with all the other children. She is trying to lick off the drops of water from her face. She is looking back to her mother for re-assurance, it seems.

What an interesting first post! She is a lovely child and seems to be enjoying the water as well, it looks like you have kept a bit of the fountain in your shot as well. Great shot and welcome to TE!

Hi Rinie,
You've got a great eye for portraits, and captured the expressions on this girl really well.

A grand entrance to TE Rinie - well done. This expression is priceless and very well timed. It is just so very natural. Lovely shot! Nice focus and composition too.

Welcome to TE Rinie! Lovely informal portrait. A tighter crop may work even better to concentrate on her expression.

Rinie - Great capture. She's adorable and very expressive. Great DOF and very nice sharpness, especially on her face and her hair. I agree with Nina that a tight crop would make a nice alternative for this shot. I tried a workshop on it. See what you think.

Hi Rinie, welcome to Trek Earth! I know this place in Rotterdam very well: we pass it very often and most of the times we take a short break to look at the playing children. The idea to take pictures never came to my mind though. Very nice shot with a kind of naughty expression on the girl's face!

This is a nice humourous portrait. The fountain to the right and the girl licking at the drops works well together. I'd crop the top of; probably right between the two white blurred objects to the left of the girl. It is a nice expression, so a small crop would enlarge that.

I really like your candid shots of children. You have captured her expression very well, and good timing with the tongue exposed. Well done, Rinie.
I tried a workshop.

Love the expression on her face... you really captured the moment. The DOF is perfect. I would have cropped somewhat tighter (to eliminate part of the body and increase the importance of the space she is looking into).
Great shot.

'n Schitterende foto Rinie!
I can understand how you felt after this great picture as it is just a moment and you succeeded in freezing it perfectly!
You may have framed a bit tighter though... And Diana's workshop is great too, it would also have been my suggestion. A slight touch of NeatImage can do miracles... :o)

great expression. DOF is good but the water in the background destracts me a little bit. Still a well caught image.
