Photographer’s Note
Another shot in the passengers series of this long SRT set. A typical scene on local trains in Thailand is large a number of people travelling with their wares to market, which I what I guess this guy is doing.
I played around with the crop of this quite a bit, and have quite a few versions, in the end I thought this blocked right hand side, showing the rather unusual open washroom, made for a slightly orginal framing.
Somewhere between Hau Hin town station, and the station at the south end of the bay.

Another excellent "puts you right there" snap of life on a Thai train. Ooodles of atmosphere and a good "feel" for the place.
Splendid...

As Francis says it puts you right there, could be sittign on the seat opposite him. Lots of detail to look at including the open washroom.

yes, i agree with francis here - its a good snap with many interesting detail, just wish you included more of that lavatory (or less of it) so that the composition would look more "finished" and less "accidental";
anyhow, interesting take,

Hello Richard. The picture pleases me, because it is not a postcard picture. It shows a perfectly everyday situation. Although the man sees the camera, the candid picture is very authentic. The picture composition is good also because it considers the area with the wash basin right in the picture still. And finally also all colors fit very well. A really good photo. Many greetings, Wolfgang.

Another very nice catch from the train, Richard. I like the authentic feel of this one and the framing with some washroom details at the right versus the pose of the vendor and the produce hanging from the ceiling in plastic bags. Cool series this one, I hope you have some more.

This is a very enjoyable picture, Richard and it is a nice record of our trains. I love the division o the frame with the Hong Nam laid bare, for all to see, in its beautiful, authentic (smelly!)detail. You have agreat portrait of the towkey, a very Chinese face, with his fixed , cold star.He is not amused and is clearly off to sell whatever he has to sell.His profusion of interesting wares (durian? nuts? fish maw? and heaven knows what else)are shown is facinating detail. nice one! regards Kevin

Nice shot. I like the tilt of the horizontal plane......and the washroom gives the photo lots of context. The lighting on the passengers face is great.
Nice Job.

Hi Richard,
This is quite a successful shot. As Francis said, we could be sitting on that train looking at the guy. Great how you made the shot seem accidental (by tilting and including part of the lavatory).

Hello Richard,
A great pov and I have to say am quite in love with the colours (also of the loo's!). The crop is excellent, the slight tilt gives dynamism with that relaxed man glancing at you so penetratingly.

A very unusual washroom indeed, curious, was it missing the door because there were no resources to fix or make one or because it was deemed unnecessary?
