Downtown Sampa with Isabel !
Ah at last I got my tough but aging roadwarrior to cooperate with the hotel’s broadband internet hook up, so here’s the first upload from Sao Paulo. Displayed is a streetscene shot in the historic part of down town Sao Paulo.
Last Saturday Isabel took us on a long interesting and very inspiring stroll through downtown Sao Paulo. After visiting the Se and the mission post where the city was founded in the 15th. Century, we stumbled on the Bovespa, the Sao Paulo stock market which was opened to the public. An image of that I’ll post later on. After that we went to the Santa Ifigenia viaduct. On our way Isabel captured this one .
In the WS is a pic of Isabel, caught by surprise on Paulista Ave.

A good street shot in which you have taken us, the viewer with you to this street. the exposeur is good considering the backlight and you have captured the figures on the right with the sun on their faces....excellent timing.

This looks like as an ordinary view of the daily life in a big city. Nothing spectacular, yet the scene that tells a thousand stories of the city inhabitants and their everyday life.

Hi Bert,
An interesting and somewhat unique street scene. I like the way the two young men on the right anchor the scene. There is good depth and good graphism, with much for the eye to absorb. You have really conveyed a sense of the business of the area, as well as a bit of the architecture. A crisp clear shot with much human interest.

Prachtige start van je Braziliaans avontuur. Niet een glamour foto van mooi Brazilië, maar het dagelijkse leven gezien door de speciale Bertolucci bril. Daar is natuurlijk ook veel meer van te leren.

Nice and strong composition like this Bert, with the B&W zebra lines and the squares in front of it. Strong colors as weel, but that's also your trademark of course.

't Was geweldig in Istanbul, veel opwinding vanwege de foto en een rondleiding door Izzet Keribar op dezelfde dag. Heerlijk om dat met 5 zussen te delen.

First, it was cool to hear/read from tou, especially from Brazil !
Second, this daily life shot is excellent for the colors and the mood. And I like the fact the guy looks at you. Thats enhances the "life" of the shot. And a good depth too.
