Intro: I have been around snap shooting since I was 6 (it’s been now 53 years...) when my grand father offered me a tiny Minox.

Later an uncle of mine has taught me the basics of chemical developing, and when I got married we set up a small darkroom, where my wife and I damaged a few hundreds of sheets of paper.

Moved to digital in 2002 with a Pentax Optio 330, which "died on the battle field" while photographing our dog on the beach.

Last year made the big jump into a Nikon D80 with a Nikkor 18-200, which is a big gun for a rookie shooter like me. Still trying to find out what some buttons were made for...

I am very fond of landscapes and sunsets. I guess I would also like sunrises, but they happen a bit too early for my taste.

As I still have to work for a living, photography is only a hobby.

Kurioso is a nick I use in almost all my appearances on virtual world. It obviously stands for “curious” and it reflects the way I face the world. Until I finish my professional career, my real name will not be revealed.

Coming from the analogue times, when cropping, burning and dodging was about all you could do with a photo, has made me not very fond of overly manipulated photos. I can understand the striking impact of a well “made” photo, but my approach will always be on the “correcting” way, rather than going to the “improving” way.
